Whilst watching I was thinking how great it would be for Yoshi to make a comeback and have his own game again with Mario. I loved being Yoshi carrying Mario on my back, that fat plumber needed a break from running around. He's getting older too, so a Yoshi - Mario game should definetly be on the cards.
But the weird thing is that I have just come online right now and seen a news story by Special Reserve saying how Yoshi pops up in Mario Sunshine (maybe to give Mario a ride?)
Am I psychic?
or just a genius?
I should really work for Nintendo you know...those guys need me.
On a more realistic note...the screenshot looks like that of Mario 64 where he just sits on the roof and then commits suicide by jumping off the castle. Mental. He better not do the same thing on Mario Sunshine or I will kick his Dino ass. He should be extinct anyway so I have all the reason too.
Ah also on the screenshots - every shot I've seen of Mario Sunshine looks really 'early'. I hope they can really improve on what I've seen, the world from Mario 64 doesn't look that much 'developed'?
But, it's a Mario game so it will rock. Won't it...

We hear the whispers... we just don't establish it's there!

ah ha! That could be where Nintendo got all these 'lets put things on our characters backs' ideas - Banjo Kazooie!
That bird, he was cool. I liked running around as something that looked like a Parrot making a squarky sound with a bear on his back.
I agree, the Mario game WILL rule. Gameplay will be sweet. I wonder what kinda mini games will go into it? I remember racing a penguin in Mario 64. Ahhh the memories :-)

Look at Banjo! He has a bloody bird on his back!
I also reckon it will rule. :D
A) Not be able to jump very high and so kill him due to the weigh of it pulling him down (It's all about forces).
&
B) Make the poor guy sink when he is trying to swim.
What's up with all these things on Nintendo characters backs these days anyway? I mean, Luigi has that Vaccum ghost sucking thing and now Mario has a water device. Why?!? What's next...the karts on Mario Kart Gamecube style being run by solar panels?
I wouldn't put that thought down you know...
Oh and damn that special triple Mario 64 jump thing. I was bouncing around everywhere with that thinking - "why?".
Thing is I don't like this thing about Mario having this water pump (or whatever it is) constantly on, call me old fashioned but I like the Mario who runs and jump about and only finding items as pick ups.
I hope they make it a pickup. Not that it will really matter but I still hope they do.

Well, i wouldn't go that far ;) I think it was a fairly safe bet that Yoshi would make an appearance at some point during Mario Sunshine.
All he did was upgrade your life or something. Pants.
I suppose it was one hell of a decent game though. I played that game straight for hours when I first got my N64. Loved it.
Mario Sunshine WILL be a hit.
