Don't listen to them. Watch the film. Even if you don't like it you can still say you have seen it.
Yeah its gritty, yeah it gets in your face, and yeah there are some very uncomfortable sex scenes (some guy shaggin a scar, i mean come on! what perv thought that up?)
But if you don't watch it, you will not be able to make a judgement.

Crash was pants, I'd heard a little about it and Mark Kemode is usually spot on with his reviews but Cronenberg sux, Existenz really was one of the biggest dissapointments I'd ever watched and as for Crash, lol it's just aload of Car Crash victims having Sex, thats it, thats the film!!

I saw it the other night, and I expected something else, especially from the reviews I've read. Not a very pleasant film, a bit too depressing for my taste.
I started watching it once, expecting the reviews of it to be over the top, but I wasn't really in the right frame of mind for it, and I just thought "This is sick" and turned it off. Will try and sit down and watch it some day!
It's Cronenberg.
Which means it's cold, clinical, distancing and emotionless.
I watched it at the cinema when it came out and it just got me somewhere I didn't like.
I *enjoyed* it (not really the right word) but it got under my skin and stayed with me for weeks.
Not a nice film, but with Cronenberg you're always in for something different.
