While I'm thinking about it, did any of you (I'm sure you all did) read about the cover-up of when man first walked on the moon, they saw ET life. I just want to know what anyone else thinks about it, because in my opinion, there is every possibility to think that they did, in fact, I belive that they did. And also, to think that we are the only inelligent life on the plant is a very naive perspective. Discuss at leisure

Sorry, it wasn't a dig at you. I just meant that it had been discussed at length a few months ago, and that I wasn't going to repeat it all as there was far too much information.

It's not the "Conspiract Theory" post that cipro mentions. This was about two months ago, and no longer seems to be in the list. It was started by Your Honour, and discussed a different subject - inter-stellar travel I thin it was - and turned into a debate about whether we ever actually landed on the moon.

Sorry, I just get kind of fussy about the words usd when it comes to astrophysics. Very similar words can too easily give the wrong meaning, y'see.

Anyway, whay I was basically saying was that the universe has a finite volume, but has no bounds. Go in one direction far enough and you'll get back to the start. Though admittedly, the size is huge beyond our comprehension..

We seem to have some cross over here.

It's just that the word 'infinite' best describes what my own interpretation of the Universe would be, i.e. boundless and immeasurable.

Boundless means 'Illimitable' which is surely the same thing only one infers a pysical action and the other a mental one. Can we agree that the point that I was trying to make was that we, as humans cannot comprehend the vastness of the universe and that might be the reason why we cannot seem to define it with our language.

No.

The surface area of a ball is unbounded, but not infinite.

If some area is infinite, then it is also unbounded. If it is unbounded though, it doesn't necessarily follow that it's infinite.

Infinite (in-fin-it). Unlimited in time or space; without end, limits or bounds.

Nooooooooooooo!

The Universe is unbounded, not infinite!

My theory is thus;

We live in what is thought to be an infinite universe.

By definition, the word 'infinite' suggests that we cannot even begin to comprehend just how big our Universe really is,

and thus is it more inconcievable to believe that there ISN'T some sort of inteligent life out there than it is to believe that there IS.

Just a thought.

Imagine you're an alien race, observing the Earth whilst trying to remain undetected. So... in the offchance that you're on the highly exciting rock that is our moon, you then see a rocket appraoching on your radar. Not only do you not leave, but you seem to place yourself in the same tiny area of the moon that the astronauts were in.

An intelligent life form?

The Apollo 11 mission was the mission to the moon. As for Extra terrestrial life on the moon?? I don't believe that, maybe somewhere else tho

I see...I just went to that, but that's about the Apollo 11 landing. Although I'm sure it has similarities, it isn't really the same thing, lol
