Take a look around Special Reserve's site. How many games can you count for sale? Thousands. All formats are covered. How could a gamer possibly ever get bored again with this plethora of choice?
We know that there are some "bad" games out there, but I'm sure that if you were allowed to pick out, say, 100 games of your choice, you could come up with a collection that would literally last you a lifetime.
Now that the next-gen consoles are nearly upon us (a cyclical occurrence, what will be coming out in another 4 years or so I wonder) we really are spoilt for choice as to what games to play, no matter what our preferred platform.
Can this endless cascade of entertainment possibilities for gamers ever cease? Or can it go on indefinitely? Or will we just grow out of it and let the future generations of gamers get spoilt for choice. Personally, seeing as gaming is in my blood and has been for nearly 20 years now, I can't see myself going on to bigger and better things (are there any?). So I'm looking forward to the next 5 years with gaming glee.

I think virtual reality is the future, but not a dodgy pixel screen a game that seems if you are the character like a football game you could be a player or a shoot em up game you are the main character.
Well I think its good.

Absolutely! I find the Street Fighter games much more playable than Tekken or Soul Calibur.

IMHO, the 3D beat-em-up genre doesn't have the depth of say a Marvel Vs Capcom 2 game.

One of my personal main gripes with the 3D beat-em-up genre is that I've found any good player can be beaten by a player who doesn't know any of the moves and can get away with, quite happily mashing away on the buttons. Now, my perception could be perceived from the fact that I am rather bad at both Soul Calibur and Tekken, which I personally think I am.

But, how many of you resident Soul Calibur and/or Tekken players out there can say you've never been beaten by a novice player?

Another thing I've found with both Soul Calibur and Tekken is that, the controls seem a tad sluggish for my liking. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying they're bad games, cause' they're not. I'm simply expressing my opinion.

I apologise if I strayed off the subject a little too much. But, it's been a long day today :(

True their are lots of great, classic games available. But Games are only going to get better, have you seen the clips of Metal Gear Solid 2 - Sons of liberty, truely breathtaking. Games will continue to evolve, the graphics will get better and hopefully the games will be more playable. I love light gun games, such as Point Blank...great fun, particularly with 2 guns and a mate to play against....But there is still a shortage of this type of game. I think your right you could by enough games to last you a lifetime, but if you like a particular genre then theres plenty room for improvement still their. Plus as each genre develops your idea of a great game changes, can you really go back to Streetfighter2 after Playing Tekken Tag Tournament???
