It could be true! Good old lightning-quick Sonic the Hedgehog could feature as just one of possbly several new characters in the forthcoming brand new Mario Kart game on the Nintendo GameCube!

You want evidence?? Here's a quote taken straight from the mouth of Shigsy!

"This is one of the titles that occupies my time - and bothers my heart - the most. After a series of meetings, we have almost settled on Mario Kart GC's direction. Expect drastic changes from past games. We are hopefull we'll introduce it in early 2003 - and Sonic could be one of the karters!"

So will the spiny blue hedgehog be flying the flag for Sega as he goes head-to-head with Nintendo's finest karters???
And what more can we expect with these 'drastic changes'??
Will Tails and Knuckles tag-along, or maybe we'll see Link and a giant Goron taking to the tracks of the Mushroom Kingdom!???

Whatever happens, it should be one heck of a game!
And surely Sonic would be much faster WITHOUT a kart!

Anyway, what do you think on this matter??

Yep it would be nice to see sonic and all the ssbm characters. They should upgrade Luigis kart though, he was crap in the 64 version, always 8th, always.. BLOOMIN ALWAYS!! :)

hopefully at E3 there will be more news on mario sunshine, golf, tennis, kart and that samus game. The future looks bright (mario sunshine, get it!?)

Yeah, E3 this year should be brilliant - just like the new Mario Kart game!

I wonder why the Koopa Trooper, Feather and other things were not featured on either the N64 or GBA versions???
I wonder what will be different this time, apart from charcaters, after Shigsy mentioned 'expect big changes'!???

And I also have Sonic Drift Racing and I know Sonic's in a kart on that. But when you say 'kart' in this forum you automatically think 'Mario Kart'!
It was nowhere near as good as the Mario Kart games, it needed more of the 'shell-shooting' action that the Nintendo games have in them!

I expect to see Mario Kart unveiled a bit next month at.... is it E3 in May? Sommin' like that anyways. But Nintendo should be unveiling some new top secret games there. With a bit of luck Mario Kart should be one of them!

Hang on! Sonic has already been in a go kart on segas Sonic Drift on the Game Gear i have it.

Its not bad but i prefer mario kart as you can actually shoot each other wheres on Sonic you just drive as Sonic Characters

Yeah it sounds like a great game i loved it on the snes but the Gameboy Advance and Nintendo 64 Versions to me didnt seem to have the same feeling to it as the snes version so hopefully it has the same feeling as the snes version did onthe gamecube.

Oh yeah this is one of my most anticipated GC games ever!

Mario Kart is simply the best.

For some reason I want Koopa Tooper back from the original SNES version. Sonic and Link would be nice additions.
