I took a small trip into my local high street games store today, to see a small shelf of N64 titles, so I took a little peek to see what they were, I havn't been there for some time and wanted to buy a game, but wasn't too sure what to get. I was hocked to see that every bad game that has ever been made was there, Blues Brothers, Blast corps, Twisted Snowboarding, Extreme G, Gex64:Enter The Gecko, my list would go one for another couple of lines, but this took me back in shock, I had to think about them for a moment to see what i was going to tell the guy behind the counter, I wanted to write to a magazine and ask why such bad games are made, do they think about what we want before designing, or do they have a mad twitch and accidently scribble somehting sdown on papaer before the deadline? for example, Blues Bothers, this game was far from good on my Amiga let alone my trusted N64, why would they do such a thing? don't tell me people actually buy these games. Extreme G, I have to say i used to own this pittiful excuse of a game, there is nothing to it, the solo levels are simple and multiplayer deathmatches don't leave much to the attention, it was shortly swapped for a snowboarding game(1080*snowboarding) which brings me to....twisted edge, yes this game might have had good reviews, but what has happened to them now?? the game gets around 70%! thats abismal, it was released after 1080* yet still didn't even come close enogh to take the title, it didn't even beat a PS snowboarding game.

Why do nintendo burden us with such shoddy titles as I have mentioned? Mario64 was released before all of these, yet nothing compares!

It's even worse when a good game gets overshadowed by a huge game, Operation Winback was bought out on the same day as Perfect dark, what a mistake, it is a great game, my mate bought a copy just over a week ago and I plays like a dream, it's sort of like Perfect dark/rainbow 6/Duke Nukem in one, duke nukem because of the multiplayer, rainbow 6 because of the third person camera style and PD because, I had to mention it, I am drwan towards the game.
I think that many games are over looked, just last saturday i found my self in town looking for a sport game, because every game I own is either killing someone or blowing someone up with comical rockets(I think killing people would have been enough), anyway, i didn't want a football game because I had FFRWC98 and it was out dated by the latest Fifa game, FFRWC99-2000international series(it has to be a long name to show you how pointless some sequels are)anyway, I had also played hockey and American football games, and was dissapointed, so I looked in the second hnd bin and found a NBA game, NBA courtside to be exact, I took it home and played it with my mates, it was just what I was looking for, excellent actions, loads of famous stars, and a title that would go out of date! I am still trying to knock someone out at the moment as a site told me you could see some blood.
Some games are worth trying for yourself, they might not be new anymore as the console is getting on in years and won't get any younger, even though magazines fill their pages with Perfect dark info, and Mario games to be expected, they also show some details on the older games, try lylat wars, very good graphics, excellent gameplay, the multiplayer could be worked on, but keeps you wrapped up for ages, worth every penny.

Look in the second hand bin, the games aren't in bad condition, they're not allowed to buy them if they don't work, trust your instincts.

It's worse when an awful game sell by the bucket load while a brilliant game gets over shadowed.
I hate it when that happens!

(It happens on all systems, Nintendo would like me to point out.)

(Howeverrrrrr. Doen't you think when making the game, they actually have a go and think, "My God, this is the worst piece of crap I have ever played in my life." Actually, they probably do. Soon after they think this they say, "Lets send it to NOM, with a fat wad of cash...")

(I wouldn't write to NOM about the bad games, they may hunt you down, and eat you.)

(Well, they may not eat you, they may... abuse you. With words.)

(Perhaps.)
