I was introduced to games about 6 years ago, when I was given a great console. It had a tremendous range of games, it was pretty nifty at it's time.

Of course, I'm talking about the...

... N64!!!

*shock, horror*

I loved that console I have a special place in my heart for it.

Thats right kid's, Badgerman's a Ninty at heart.

But, I am/was ( :S ) a ninty due to one game, that was International Superstar Soccer 64.

Now all you sony-lovers know that the makers of this released a version of the game on release date of the PS2. Which was the game I enjoyed the most in the early stages of my relationship with my PS2 (go figure).

So I am anticipating ISS2 really badly. I know that you lot will say "Oooh but it scored lower than the first one" Hello? it was a release game, OPS2M had to score every release game good or they wouldn't of sold.

In my opinion, OPS2M are biased Sony F###ers so I'm not surprised that they gave ISS2 a low score (due to the developers originally being Ninties)

Also, I didn't think MGS2 deserved a 10/10 in all catergories. I think that OPS2M wanted to persuade Hideo to keep his game on one console, the (surprise surprise) the PS2. Maybe Hideo Kojima had a little extra left from the budget (If you know what i mean)

Thats why I'm not believing a review from a sony bloke for an originally Ninty game.

Back to the topic at hand, I don't want any biased opinions here, I am seriously thinking of purchasing ISS2. Does anyone have any info on it, or can any of you REALLY persuade me to not buy it?

ISS 98 was my fave footy game by far on the N64. Of course, ISS pro evo wiped the floor with it...but still a great game.

Ninty at heart eh? I trust you'll be getting a Gamecube? Especially at £135! Go on, get ISS2 with it as well:)

The problem that I'm having is that I've got PES, and it now bores me!

So I just wanted a refreshing change to the 'football sim' style... ISS2!

I'll get it (I hope) and tell you on my thoughts

I had ISS 98 on the psx and I read a magazine (I think it was Arcade - now defunct!) which stated that ISS64 was the best footie game around.

Being a fool I went and bought the N64 version but despite perservering with it, it did not come up to the same levels of playability of the PSX version. The graphice were not as good at the time and the passing and shooting system were also not as good as the psx - should I add the inevitible - in my opinion before I get shouted down here !

Personally I would go for Pro Evo or Pro Evo2.

ive followed the ISS series since they came out on the PS 1.
there was so many of them, but I seem to get most of them.

Anyway ive only seen a video of of ISS 2, it seems good
good commentry (alan parry) and most of the names of players are proper
(or so im told) and some other extras, the training is duley the same
but it has got a few more skills added/

But if you have to compare it to Pro Evolution soccer, its not as good
in terms of the 'smoothness' and 'realistic' of the gameplay and scoring. However ISS 2 has more close ball control and easier to play that pro evo.

its depends on what you like really, no doubt you'll enjoy it
once you buy it, but it I were you id try it out first, rent it out
just to make sure.
