Recently I upgraded from Abit KT7A + Duron850 + 256mbPC133SDRAM. To
MSI KT3ULTRA + Athlon XP 1900(1.6ghz) + 256mb2100ddr.

Everyhting was fine until i tried to connect to the internet.
I am on AOL by the way. The problem is that efore about 8pm I hardly ever manage to connect and when i do only for about 30 seconds before being disconnected. When it doesn't connect (most of the time), i get error messages saying the modem could not get a carrier signal, and sometimes that "a PPP connection could not be obtained", or something like that.

This is a really weird problem because connecting before the upgrade was no problem at all. It is a V.90 Lucent Win modem and I am using a fairly new set of drivers, my OS is Windows98.

Any help would be much appreciated as i dont know very much about modems and internet stuff. Cheers.

You have two HDDs, right? You have an operating system on each. This means that you have two operating systems. You cannot run your computer past the start-up, with the text showing info about your PC without choosing the operating system you want to use. Basicly, it's asking you which of the two you'd like to use.

I also noticed that my modem and my soundcard are sharing an IRQ. I temporarily disabled my soundcard and have menaged to log on now. Could this have been causing the problems?

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
Impressive control panel
I have to say that I'm impressed with the features available having logged on... Loads of info - excellent.
