Sony- the popular stuff. can churn out decent stuff but will almost certainly sell well regardless of whether the stuff is actually any good. has a large fanbase worlwide. so its like pop.
Nintendo- considered the "alternative" stuff, their fans are passionate and contest with other fans that there stuff is better. gets by on a good fanbase. so its like nu-metal.
Dreamcast- slowly fizzling out of the business. produced unoticed excellent stuff. has a very small fanbase. so its like indie.
Pc- the veterans of the industry, still has a decent fanbase, produces some decent stuff. so its like U2 etc.
