I'm just about to sit down and start playing Silent Hill 2, can somebody please tell me the story to the first one and what happened in it, thanks.

How do u think survival Horror games will improve in the future? and what would you want Resident Evil: network to be like?

The story for the first game is about a man (I forget the name) searching for his daughter after his car crashes near Silent Hill. It turns out his daughter is involved somehow in the strange things happening in Silent Hill, and he somehow has to save her from the ghost town.

The storyline around Silent Hill has nothing to do with the second one ;-)

but Silent Hill 2 is sent around a letter that some bloke got off his wife, but the thing is his wife has been dead for 4 years

It's not very fresh in my memory as I'm busy on other games. The thing is though that it is not related to SH1 at all. The location is the same but even that isn't helpful both games take place in different parts of Silent Hill. The storylines don't mix and so I really don't see the need to know anything about SH1. Someone who's played the games more recently will know more about SH1 AND SH2.
