Looking through PCZone 115, I came across a preview of Freelancer, and it got me very very interested. It claims that you can do pretty much what you want, when you want to, and the online options seem to be even better! Now, is it just me, or have you always wanted to do that kind of thing? I have always wanted a game where you can do anything, but that kind of freedom makes people bored - What/where shall I do/go? etc. Now, there have been a lack of these games, since the mother, Elite 1 and 2. These offered that kind of game, albeit with very dated graphics by todays standards. Freelancer looks like it will be an updated Elite, with superb graphics, but why haven't there been more of these games? Is it because of the developers, who don't want to give the player such a massive game, as it takes so much time, or is it the players, who want to be guided and chaperoned in a much smaller arena. There have been attempts in the past, but they failed miserably - is that the reason. As I said before, I am surprised, because surely everybody wants to be a space pilot, flying through unknown systems etc.....
