What the hell is up with all these fools using their opponents finishing moves? I mean c'mon...... I remember when a finishing move meant something and was like the totally coolest thing ever when they did it....

I mean no one would ever kick out of the finishing move unless it was a big occasion such as WrestleMania but now it so annoying when you see that everyone is doing everyone elses finisher...... Especially Jericho!

I mean its like every week i see him hitting a Rock Bottom! I mean certain occasions such as........

- The Build Up to Rock vs HHH in the Iron Man at Judgement Day when Rocky was Rock Bottomed through a table and then Rock Pedigreed Hunter through the announce table and that was like ultra mega cool.........

- Wrestlemania X-7 the build up was intense.... You had Rock give Austin the Stunner and then place a beer next to his head... Which was like totally the coolest thing to do to his "Double Stunning, Beer Swilling Candy Ass". Then come the Main Event and then Rock (Chasing Mr. McMahon) ran straight into Stone Cold who then gave The People's Champion the Rock Bottom...... Rock also gave Austin another Stunner by the way.........

But then you have like EVERYONE doing everyone elses finisher..... I have seen the following do the following

The Rock - Stunner, Pedigree, Crippler Crossface, (I'm sure i saw him do this one) Wall of Jericho......

Austin - Rock Bottom, Sharpshooter, Walls of Jericho.....

Jericho - Rock Bottom about 4000 times, (I think) Pedigree and the People's Elbow

Rhyno - Walls of Jericho

I wanna see Tajiri do a Jacknife PowerBomb or The Rock do the Shooting Star Press........

I mean i really sometimes like the case of Judgement Day and Wrestlemania it was cool when it happened but i mean when it happens all the @#%$ time it degrades the power of the move when it happens all the times......

Also are finishers not as strong as they used to be? Everyone is also kicking out of everyone's finisher......

And also to note - Earl Hebner you are a fool and i hate you for making Kurt Angle look superhuman and also to make The Rock look inferior and weak. Remember back in 2001 i think at No Way Out... The Rock vs Kurt Angle for the WWF Championship and The Rock hit the Rock Bottom and Earl only counted 2 when he should have counted 3!! The look on Rocky's face said it all........ Then he had to Rock Bottom Kurt again and then he gave a dirty look to Hebner and Rock was champion once again.........

This is my first post here and it won't be my last!!!

I've thought about this some more. I prefer the term signature move. This isn't Street Fighter or something, it's wrestling. Kicking out of moves can be great on special occaisons such as Pay Per Views. In reality one move doesn't knock someone out all the time so why should it always in wrestling, especially in big matches.

It's a finosher move, therefore it's supposed to FINISH the opponant. That meens it should only take ONE finisher to win the match!1

Booker T beat Tajiri with it. To be fair the Edgo-matic isn't really a finisher. The Edgecution, the Spear and even the Downward Spiral are probably "bigger moves." Otherwise you make a good point certain finishers have been completely devalued.

They should not kick out of each others finishing moves. They also shouldn't use each others finishing moves unless it is a big event.

Aah, but it IS a good thing when it is used to introduce a new finishing move. ie, opponent kicks out of wrestlers normal finisher so he uses something new to put them away and then this becomes his new finisher.

Indeed, it's being overused.

But what bugs me more is when, for example, Jericho will hit the Lionsault and expect people to be shocked when his opponent kicks out of it. He hasn't got a win in years.
Same with Edge and the Edge-O-Matic.

And then there's the other problem of Booker's Scissors Kick. I don't think he's EVER gotten a win with it on WWF TV, and, like Jericho, expects us to be shocked when his opponent kicks out. It can't be shocking when it's never been different.

I brought this topic up a while ago and no one seemed to listen, damn hippies! :0)

Anyhoo, I agree totally, there milking a winning formulae, like you said when it happened once it was a shock and the crowd loved it and we was all really into it but now you more or less expect it. Rubbish.

Remember how there was too many cage matches well they milked that for a while but now with their dissapearence when another is announced it will be good again so I think it's time to lay of the 'borrowing' of finishers.

In ECW the wrestlers usually had to do one or two of their finishing moves to get the win as there opponents usually kicked out. This was good really as it meant one finshing move would not end the match so its kind of unexpected which is good. Although sometimes it only took one.

When it first happened it was like 'Woah'! (apologies for sounding like an American beach bum). It was really something special (WM X7 sticks out for me). Now not only have they degraded the finishing manouvre but they have made it really hard to shock the fans. If wrestlers do each others moves, what is the point of having indivdual finishers anyway?

I like the Angle Slam. It may not be powerful but it looks damn good.
