I've seen a few posts with people asking about MGS 3, so I did a search and found a few scraps of info to whet your apetite.

Konami have given some information about Metal Gear Solid 3.
Reportedly initial planning for the game started around 1 month ago, I have very little information at the moment but this is what I have.
The game is planned for a 2003-2004 release date on the playstation 2. Unfortunatly the game will not be made by Hideo Kojima, though he may be involved with the story in some way. Also Raiden will not appear in the game - possibly due to the dislike some people have expressed about his inclusion in MGS2. The title of the game is rumoured to be "Metal Gear Solid 3: The Patriots".
So there you have it, before many of us in europe have even played MGS2 we are hearing about MGS3, we have two things to look forward to.

Will be on more systems than just PS2 - Xbox? GC?
Not much else rumoured at the moment, Hideo is only partly involved in writing the storyline, there is a petition trying to get him to develop it (but really though, what good will singing it do?)

If Hideo isn't making it, then how can he say that Raiden won't be in it? I think it's all rumours.
yeh thats what I thought - hopefully theer will be another MGS 3 made by hideo et al.
i doubt konami would sell there biggest fanchise metal gear solid to another company.
Yeh, I was under the Impression that there wasn't gona be a MGS 3, well made by Hideo anyway. However ive come across a few things which hints that there maybe one.
It would be become interesting if another developer tried to make MGS 3, could it live up to its predecessors and match Konami?

The only problem I can see with MGS3 is that Hideo Kojima won't be making it. We'll have to see if the new developer of the game can match what Hideo Kojima has done in the previous two Metal Gears.
No Raiden, he was quality, they should make it like MGS2 where Snake goes thorugh it one way and Raiden another, and should be able to go through it with both. The patriots, thouhgt they were dead!
