Does anybody know if/ho I can get my perl cgi scripts to run automaticly, or at a set time/date or every hour. Instead of hen a form is submited to it?

Thanks in advance for any help..........

There is one ISP I know of which allows you to run cron processes, and that is Force9 (http://www.force9.co.uk).
With Force9, the cheapest account which allows access to the shell server is £4.99 a month, which is not bad considering what you get. It might just be possible, but messy, to have your PC at home connect to a server periodically to do something, you could for example use Linux, and run a cron process to dial up, manipulate whatever you want, and log off, every hour or whatever. If you have a permanent connection it is somewhat easier, but then running your own server would make sense, and old 486 would do if you were not running a GUI. Either way, if you really need to do this, and can commit a fairly modest expenditure, and some hard work, it can be done.

You need to modify the cron records on the server. This isn't possible on Freeola or on any other ISP I know of. The only way to do it is run your own server or have a co-location deal (about £500-600 a month).

Erm, not really. I don't think it's possible.
