What happened to our wonderful new forum with its fresh new start?

There was a load of brilliant posts by lots of great writers and then SPAM. People come along and Spam. Mindless boring drivel because it bumps up the word count. Oh yay.

There is more to life than a word count. It doesn't earn you respect on a forum by being able to say "I have 100,000 words!", and I will tell you why...

Number one, if you have posted 100,000 words then people will know who you are, because 100,000 words means a fair few posts. If you have spammed your way to that figure then they will know you are a spammer and ou will have zero respect. So why do it? Why create meaningless topics to get a bigger word/post number? All you are left with is your name in a table that means nothing. You have achieved nothing. In the greater scheme of things you have thus wasted x hours of your life doing nothing.

So why not think a little? It's really not that hard. I don't mind if you type in txt spk or spell like a six year old, as long as you do it in something worthwhile. Write a story, write a poem, write words that are invested with some meaning. And stop wrecking the forums for everyone else. Because that is what you are doing. You are posting nothingness and it is displacing valid topics. You are taking up space with your farrago of empty posts.

Try using words that aren't pellucid (I'm being ironic)

Try to endgender some feeling in the reader because then they will reply. I rarely agree with Belldandy but it doesn't make him a bad poster; he's a damn good poster because everything he writes forces me into replying.

Try thinking. Think before you press that "post this message" button. Think whether the forum really needs another one-line "what's your favourite.." topic. If you have doubts then don't post it.

Try being passionate. For god's sake start being opinionated some of you. Having an opinion might mean you argue with someone but it doesn't matter, just stop being fickle, lightweight and limp. Write with fire.

I am bored. I have a headache. My computer is not working properly. Don't antagonise me further, or I'll get *really* angry.

I always try to write at least half decent topics, but I have writ a few poor ones. Your right though, if you go to FOG (Chat) you will find a lovely little post about someone farting on his (or her?) dog. I mean WTF?
This kind of stuff really annoys me and give us Newbies a bad name.

10/10
Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
