Ooops, I think my reply was the wrong way round.

If they were all old/ill people then I would let the kid live and the 1000 die.

If they were all doctors/scientists etc, then I would kill the kid and let the 1000 live.

Depends.

If the 1000 people had a lot to offer society, i.e if they were all doctors and stuff, then no.

If they were 1000 old people, or 1000 terminally ill people then yes.

If they were just 1000 people it would depend on how I felt at the time.

My mate and I had a big discussion about this, I said I would even kill 1000 people to save 1001, he said he wouldn't
