Hello my fellow friends
Well, i am a crazy war fan, i like all types of war films, veitnam, gulf, world war 2. But there seems to be a shortage on war games, and all the ones that are amazing are out for the PC which won't get a XBOX relese, i know there are rumours about Operation Flashpoint and Return To Castle Wolfinstein but they ain't coming out until agesand i cant possible wait, ages.
So, where are all the vietnam games ?, we got games set on the gulf war and world war 2 but none on veitnam, i know they could be all types of crititizm (did i spell that wrong) but hay, that is what all us young people want today, violance and blood. Look at GTA 3, everyone loves that game coz you can kill people steel any car and go anywhere you want. But it still ain't........well, war.
I know there are thousands people out there, more like millions who love war games, who love being snipers and taking out the enemy with one shot kills to the head. If there was a game based on vietnam, i think it would be a massive hit, just like medal of hounour.
We all know tht the yanks lost the veitnam war, do you think that is why they ain't no games based on it ? but look at it this way, if that was the reason the germans lost world war 2. But i bet your saying to your self, germans ain't making world war 2 games.
I would love to see more games based on war, either FPS or 3 person veiw it dosn't matter, as long as you can do the mission in anyway you want, sniper anyone (even your own men) and do normal missions like the soliders of the veitnam war had, like patroling throue a village and stuff like that.
Ok if there was a game on vietnam i know it would be an 18 because stuck in a real life situation watching your fellow soliders getting blown to peices but the veitkong ain't really fro the faint hearted, but listen, thats what we all want to see, have anyone seen the film Apoclipse Now or Full Metal Jacket ? well films are being made about the veitnam war, but no games, i don't really know what the difference would be, because films could touch peoples hearts just as well as a game, but in the game you could prevent you fellow team members from a sick gunshot wound to the head, and you can even get promoted and lead your team of men.
But if there was a game, i woundn't like to see it like rainbow 6 (even know how good it is) because if you got promoted to lance jack (lance corpral to all you who don't know) and you could control every man in your squad i personally think it would kill the game off because you would have to go by the precise planning. But if you could issue them orders like pushing a button for a task, like hidden and dangerous. you could issue them orders like, hold your fire, left and right flank and etc, which would make it feel more realistic. Also each of your squad members would have a different personallity, you could have a guy which does what he wants, a little like animal in full metal jacket, and he taunts at the enemy where you are atting, giving away positions, and if you are a crap leader and keep getting you new issued men killed you could get de-promoted and the squad hating you.
I would love to see a game based on the real actions of the Veitnam war. If you have the same veiws post a reply or e-mail me on [email protected], together we could make a game as real as this idea come true.
