"Website Checkout Error"

A friend has a site which uses Paypal as a payment method. Currently, users can finalise their order details and quantities but on selecting 'pay now' a blank page appears with 'No Token Passed'. In effect, customers connot buy their goods.

I feel that the problem lies with Paypal. They haven't provided any support as yet, so has any one any idea of how to correct this error?

This is the code in question ...

I feel that

webscr?cmd=_express-checkout&token=

should be

webscr?cmd=_express-checkout=

Thanks ...

Success! The shop is operational again. Paypal still haven't responded to the problem, but removing Paypal from the shop and then reinstalling it has solved the problem of the 'missing' token value.

Thanks for your assistance Hmmm :¬)

Many thanks for the reply Hmmm :¬)

I agree that Paypal are somewhat 'shrouded in the mists of time', but at least I have a better understanding of the problem now! The 'tokenvalue' is now missing, but the order and payment system was operative last week!? Orders can be single items or multiple but .... I'll take a look at the link later, but I just wanted to thank you for your time, much appreciated ... DL

I haven't looked at PayPal's documentation for a long time - it's very easy to lose a week or more when you start looking!

I can see here: https://developer.paypal.com/docs/classic/express-checkout/ht_ec-singleItemPayment-curl-etc/ that your first code snippet might be valid - depending on what else is going on.

3. Redirect the Customer to PayPal for Approval
Using the token valued returned from SetExpressCheckout, redirect the customer to PayPal so they can approve the transaction:

https://www.sandbox.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_express-checkout&token= <tokenValue>
