I recently purchased Silent Hill 2 without playing the prequel first I had not read or researched this game and really didn't no what to expect. The back prologue described it as a sinister horror novel encorperating new technologies to reallt bring the playing experience to life and so I decided to give these a try. I have to say when I first began the game the controls (as simple as they may be) were hard for me to handle and it took me a while to adjust.

AFter a while of control practice I found myself running down a seemingly endless path filled with thick fog a sinister sounds echoeing in the gloomy woods surrounding me, I was impressed with the sounds and the graphics and really couldn't wait to enter the game and sample these new 'ground breaking' technologies. As I traveeled through the game a very unclear freaky and sinister storyline came forward, basically the man you control ,James, has recieved a message from his very 'dead' wife Mary who died of a desease I suppose in the prequel. James is on a quest to find Mary but comes across many a freaky monster, deformed freak, phycotic character and other deformed, mangeled creatures along his way.

The character design in this game is amazing you actually learn things about the characters as you go along a find strange other clues somehow linking the past to these very modern characters, don't no what I mean buy this game to find out.

An open, quick, smart and mischeveous mind will really aid you in this game. I was sucked into this gaming experience and was really very glad I was I would advise many others to jump into this game as well and brace yourself for a very bumpy ride.

I hope this has helped you decide about this game and hope you will share your views with me at [email protected].

I am 13 and so would say this game is from 11 upwards.

His wife did not die to my recolection in th first Silent Hill as I have completed that (somehow without being to freaked out) and thouroughly enjoyed it but I have staved off the second for a very 'strange but true' (get it, oh dear my jokes are bad) reason. When i get my X-BOX next week I might have a look at it on there although it is not at the top of the list in my gaming priorities.

To add to Hercules' comment you do put them in the reviews section but being a 'Newby' you might not have known, just remember fo future references, good description though.
