has anyone implemented switching of languages within instantpro. I was thinking of adding a button in the banner area with a flag to represent the language, then redirecting to the page with a postfix e.g.


goto or depending on choice

I can't see any easier way in instantpro to do this.

it would be nice to redirect using some php but not sure yet if I can even do that...will check it out

I wouldn't use any auto-redirecting as this often upsets users. I would just let them change languages manually. I like the simple way Apple let visitors choose a location.


I haven't used translated pages with InstantPro but I have with a normal website.

Have a read on Google's hreflang usage - once you are up and running this works quite well showing users their local language when searching. It gets quite complicated if you have a large site and lots of languages!

Using Google's Webmaster Tools 'International Targeting' section helps to highlight any issues.
