I have broadband at my uni residence and pay a flat fee, but here at home (for it is the holidays) I have to pay for it by the minute...rather my Dad has to pay for it by the minute and he's gonna kill me when he finds out how much I've been on the internet.

I know how you feel mate. At uni i've got a 24/7 free connection. Well it costs me £3.75 a month, but then there's no phone bills or anything. And then when I go home, my connection is slower, and I have to pay by the min. Also my dad then moans at me for using the phone all the time. I think i'm gonna have to sort out the internet business when I go home for my 4 month summer hol!
