These are the top survival horror games but which one is more scary and better. I have all of both the Resident Evil and Silent Hill games and they are all good. Lets start with Resident Evil. The first game was in the mansion and I think the best bit was when Jill got poisoned and Chris had to find a cure. Also the gruesome snake was very good. Shivers going up my spine.The hunters were very scary and the cut scene was overwhelming. The cave was very atmospheric. This was an extremely good opening to the series.
Now let's move on to Silent Hill. This was more atmospheric and I think it had a very good plot. I also think it was meant to be more disturbing than Resident Evil. It takes survival horror one step further and plays with your mind more. I think the two best parts were when you had to fight Mary, your friend. It digs into your mind. The other best part just sums up Silent Hill - the Hospital which makes you jump, especially when you go in the morgue.
I have discussed both games and they are both brilliant and I find it difficult to choose one over the other. What do you think?

I think they're quite different.
Resident Evil is more all out action/horror, whereas Silent Hill is like a psychological thriller.
It's very much based on evoking emotions, and doesn't necessarily use quite so many blatant fright-tactics.
