I've heard 5 tracks now and here's a rough opinion.
"The Hindu Times"
The single. Sounds just like Oasis do, Liam's nasal wiiiyiiiiine just as normal. I couldn't find any interest the 1st 4 times I heard it, but it's seeping it's way into my brain.
Same old Oasis, but that's not always a bad thing.
"Force of Nature"
Starts with the drum-beat cribbed from "Revolution" by The Beatles. And I mean *exactly*.
Noel taking vocals, a cycling riff over and over and over and over.
Not bad, "Yeah I feel like a force of nature, could make you sing like a bird released...if what you seek is a wise man's treasure..."
A bit more simple and laid back than usual Oasis. No Phil Spectre wall-of-sound to this one.
"Hung in a Bad Place"
AC/DC start.
Typical Oasis song again. Nothing new at all.
Liam singing shyiiiiiiiite again.
"I can go where I wanna, be who I wanna, see what I wanna..."
He sounds lifeless and bored with singing this.
Beach-Boys harmonies on the bridge "Ahhhhh...Ahhhhh"
Not the best track on here to be honest.
A very rock ending, riff being matched on drums.
Feedback ending.
"Little by Little"
Loads of Hammond.
Noel sounds exactly like Paul Weller.
Very Pink Floyd riff for the chorus, "Comfortably Numb" sounding.
Verses have a strong Weller influence, "Broken Stones" is a good comparison.
Nice song, I like this a lot. Should have been the 1st single.
"cos little by little you gave me everything you own.."
Big chorus, quiet verse.
"Songbird"
Acoustic. Tablas/bongos.
Liam singing.
Honkytonk piano carries riff, accordian in the background?
Nearest thing to this is "Wonderwall" or "Half a World Away".
A quiet, gentle song.
"Talking to the songbird yesterday...singing songs I love to pass the time..gonna write a song so she can see...give me all the look she gives to me"
This is a really, really good song.
"She's not anyone...she's not anyone...she's not anyone".
A very bluesy feel.
Backwards sounding harpsichord?
"Whiter Shade of Pale" isn't a million miles away.

These are the only tracks I've got.
A couple sound really bog-standard Oasis.
But "Songbird" and "Little by Little" are really, really good.
Worth buying? If you're an Oasis fan you'll get it anyway.
If you're a part fan, maybe.
"Songbird" is my favourite, takes 2nd place to "Talk Tonight" for my fav Oasis track.
Clutch are still better.
Be Here Now was... different. Although it got a slating from nearly everyone, when looking through the song list, there are some very good songs on it. Stand by Me, Don't Go Away and All Around the World to name a few. I've never regretted buying that album unlike most of the people that have.
The group, for me, really hit a slump with Standing on the Shoulder of Giants. This album really did suck, with songs such as Go Let it Out and Who Feels Love, it was no surprise to me that this album got a slating.
Although there last album was rubbish, I'm optimistic that their new one is going to be very good. I've only heard a few songs so far, but I like what I've heard.
They will more than certainly play a few in Finnsbury Park in July, and I've got no problem with that whatsoever.
Went off them
There has been no musical growth really and last album was awful.
However, The Hindu Times is Oasis really... it's not good and it's not bad.
One song that Liam Gallacher wrote is not too bad, I downloaded it.
fook
Because I didn't. Definitely Maybe and What's the Story were good albums, but I just don't listen to them anymore.
Hindu Times does sound better than anything that I heard on SOTSOG though.
But Be Here Now sucked ass.
