I was starting to wonder if it was my Outlook that had blipped as no one else was saying anything...

A configuration change took place which we understand caused this issue, a further change has now been made to rectify the problem.
As it is POP mail there is little that we are able to do to clear the mailboxes themselves if your client has connected to the server during the errored period. I apologise for this inconvenience.
