Windows XP is NOT compatible with the Microsoft .Net framework 4.5 or later and no amount of tweaking will make it work properly.
This means that if you are accessing a web-based database which is being supported on .Net 4.5 or above then some operations may appear to work while others will give very strange results or fail. Some of the failures may be very subtle and difficult to trace.
The Microsoft logic is to upgrade at least to Windows 7.
