Further details of the latest edition of Nintendo's interactive board-game Mario Party 4 have been announced, and it could come as a bit of a shock to some.

In an attempt to kiss goodbye to the kiddy image the boards and mini-games will be much more adult oriented. The boards no longer focus around areas similar to the Mushroom Kingdon, and though the bassis of the game, collecting stars, remains the same the boards so far announced are very different:

Downtown: Where unfortunate players may be victims of drive by shootings, and you'll be propositioned by drug dealers and prostitutes, the question is, what would you do for a star?

War: Where you might find yourself stepping on a landmine, but on the plus side you can enlist mercenaries to steal from other players, because all's fair in love and war.

A Resident Evil inspired zombie-filled mansion: There's said to be gore galore here, and frights aplenty too. Careful not to find yourself turned into a zombie, or you'll spend the next few turns moving much slower, which could stop you reachint those important stars.

There will apparently be 10 boards in total, one of which is thought to focus on toilet humour, though Nintendo had nothing to show of this.

The mini games should also be a real eye opener for those that dismiss Nintendo games as being for babies, with many that will have you in stitches. A fart lighting game is the highlight seen so far, in which you must hammer the buttons to build up power, and the player that keeps the flame alight longest wins, just as long as he doesn't suffer any blow-back.

Other games revealed so far are:

Pie Eating: You have a minute to eat as many pies at you can, with the ability to bring it all back up to make room for more.

Pee-artist: A popular Nintendo characters face will appear on the screen, and you must trace around it's edge with urine. This is said to be very difficult using Princess.

Plop Idol: With each button making a different fart noise, the player must match the pop song being played.

As you can see, Nintendo are trying very hard to leave behind their childish image, and have created the kind of game that, funnily enough, would be very popular at parties!

Very good although missing the punk rock mini game where you become 3 stupid americans trying to be punk stars by saying as many swearwords as possible.
