The release date for Windows 10 is 29/07/2015.
This will be a free 1 year update to users of Windows 7 & 8.
We expect that Microsoft will follow this with a new version of Office. It wouldn't be surprising if this did not work on earlier versions of the operating system.

It is very similar to 8 in a number of ways but the Windows menu system has been revised to be a mix of the Windows 7 version and the panels of 8.
The pre-release included Internet Explorer but this is due to be replaced shortly by the new Spartan browser. This will operate like Cortana on the Windows Phone and have a voice activation ability.
Windows 7 and 8 users will be offered a one year free upgrade to Windows 10.

It's my dream to actually help create a first person shoot-em-up in the style of the Turok series. I'm working on weapon and enemy design, storylines, control systems (for GameCube) and on some original ideas as I type this message!
