Swapped my Iphone 5s with new IPhone 6 backed up Iphone 5S and restored in IPhone 6 all fine apart of email which arrives ok but cant send. tried everything - cant send.
Anyone has some idea what could be a problem or if someone else had a similar problem? How did you sort it out?
Thank you

I have had the same problem having swopped my iPhone 5 for a 6!

I carried out the 'restore' process to bring everything across from my old phone to my new phone, and afterwards could not send out mail!

I have now solved the problem.

The Apple restore process does not bring across every setting required to send out mail, therefore you must go back to square one.

Delete the e mail account and set up a new one as described by Freeola in their iPhone set up guide. (see 'Warhunts' post).

Make sure your username and password is entered, they are not 'optional'! Especially in The Outgoing Mail Server field SMTP 'smtp-auth.freeola.net'. You must click on this field, click again when it appears in the 'Primary Server' field and enter your user name and password.

This worked for me after several hours of frustration!

When an iPhone can receive but not send the issue is usually the same thing.

If you navigate to your outgoing settings:

Desktop -> Settings -> Mail, Contacts & Calenders -> Choose your account from list (tap on it once) -> find outgoing server in list (tap on it once) -> tap on the 'primary server'

You should see the following settings:

Server - On
Hostname (server name) -
Username:
Password:
SSL:
Authentication:
Port:

Usually all the settings are fine, with the exception of the username and password. For some reason Apple decided that pre-filling these fields with 'optional' would be a good idea.

With Freeola, they are not optional, and are required so make sure you have entered them here.

For a full guide on iPhone set up check our help guides: Guides

Alternatively send us a ticket over here Email us with your details and we can provide a full list of settings etc

Hi,
Have you tried changing the outgoing port to 2025?

Freeola iPhone setup reference in case you haven't seen this.
