Only now, months after the WWF vs Alliance are former ECW and WCW wrestlers returning to the WWF. Guys like Raven, Tommy Dreamer and Billy Kidman have been drafted onto Raw and Smackdown bringing with them their own wrestling styles. Since the Alliance thing many ECW/WCW wrestlers were languishing in OVW or HWA despite their obvious talents while many WWF wrestlers who had been ignored during the Alliance were given another chance.
The split has now allowed Hardcore and Cruiserweight Divisions to flourish. The hardcore division has clearly been influenced by the return like Raven and Dreamer who bring their hardcore experience from ECW. The cruiserweight division has gained people like Billy Kidman and Chavo Guerrero Jnr from WCW where cruiserweights played an important.
One of the biggest influences from WCW has been nWo. The WCWs biggest storyline has been used in the WWF, showing how much the WWF must have rated it.
After "defeating" the WCW and ECW Alliance the WWF finally seems to be taking the best parts of both to add to the WWF's own shows.
Do you think this "Seedubyafication" is a good thing or a bad thing?
However...I still yearn for ECW, please WWF get really hardcore!!! Get some young Sabu wannabe and put him in barbed wire matches...please?!?
In my opinion the nWo has flopped badly, especially with Hogan leaving and Nash getting injured.
The WWF went main event crazy and the format got tired. Mixing cruiserweights and Hardcore styles with solid main events can only be a good thing.
Saying that, the nWo storyline is flagging a little, especially as Kevin Nash is injured. Methinks we may see another high profile addition to the nWo stable...
