Background:
Updated my home page to include a gallery of stock: As I noticed first time visitors were only going to the first page; Since then my banner and navigation menu have vanished from the page: leaving only one page visible. Can anyone explain how I can get it back or do I need to start again?

It looks like you've set your home page to be a "Splash page", these types of pages are intended to be used as an introduction to your website and don't include your navigation and banner.
To revert this page back to a normal page you need to visit the Pagemanager and click "Edit" for this page. Once the next page has loaded click the "Page Settings" link in the top right hand corner. Within this popup you need to unselect the option that reads "Display page as splash page" and click "Update".
