Hi,

I've noticed for a while now, that some of the sites I visit hang when trying to connect to connected.facebook.net.

Anyone else have this problem?

Some FB plugins can slow things down - Freeola removed their FB plugin a while back which was causing slow page loads.

Have you got a demo site for people to look at?
Also worth saying what OS & browser you are using in case it's related.

ive noticed for ages that my website seems to hang, but I phoned up a long time ago and was told all is ok... it still seems to do it though, it seems that thee have been a problems lately, my sites used to load up really quickly but nowadays seem to take a lot longer, don't know if freeola have changed something along the way, but I think its since I started using vip hosting, I am sure it used to be a lot faster on normal "free" hosting!! maybe its just me??

Your bellybar site is loading fine for me... Apart from the Flash header as this device can't display it.

Number 7 in Freeola's Hottest Sites - nice traffic!

So how do you explain the rating of these two sites, which are one and the same, except for the url! Nice traffic?

Hello, the bellybar site loads ok, and yes it does get quite a few visitors, it is a very niche market and something the site specialises in, that site is not the problem..I am happy with freeolas speed for that site!!
Our other site julesbodyjewellery.co.uk seems to hang all the time though. I'm not moaning about the bellybar site, and I know it has flash so that isn't helping at the moment, nearly all suitable the templates from the software I used for it used flash, hence the problem, but I am working on it..that part of it should be resolved soon , but when checking it I do sometimes get told that the host could be faster.. but in all honesty bellybar always seems to load fast for me..
The other site is the problem though, it nearly always seems to take an age to load up, and quite often I get error messages when trying to log into it, and the message " sql has gone away" or words to that affect (I think that what it says anyway),
I have been with freeola since 2000, so obviously I have been very happy with the service, but lately I have noticed the julesbodyjewellery site hanging a lot. I don't know if this is down to freeola or the site build. There does seem to have been an awful lot of problems with the internet in general lately, lots of providers having problems..
We have never had any problems with hosting to be quite honest until about last few months. It is hard to gauge it here on these boards, as there are very few users, but I have noticed that thee has been a problem of the network status pages, maybe it is down to that?

That site's also loading fine for me at the moment.
From what you are saying it sounds like you've seen some MySQL hiccups though.

BTW I prefer the look of that one :¬)

hello, thanks , yes it looks a lot more modern, it was supposed to earn us a few quid while we change the other site (in case we dropped on search rankings), but it sells very very little, it doesn't get enough looks for starters, but also for some reason people just don't seem to buy from it, I cant figure it out!!
I have tried really hard to get it to get more looks, but it aint easy!!

I'm using Firefox (latest) on Mac OSX 10.9.5.

One of the affected sites is www.topcashback.co.uk.

(Correction - the fb subdomain is connect.facebook.net)

This site loads very quickly for me and actually I prefer it to your other site ... design wise.
