You can tell Google how to cope with this...
You can use Google's 'Webmaster Tools' as advised here:
Set your preferred domain (www or non-www)
Post your URL if you want people to take a look and check you aren't missing any obvious tricks :¬)

Not really something for us to do, but rather a file for you to add to your site folder, as follows;
Adding htaccess redirect
Although, in truth, there are a lot of things that are "bad" for SEO, most of them do negligible or zero damage to your rankings. This as far as I am aware falls under that category, meaning that you are unlikely to notice any difference whatsoever.
