More and more extras and accessories are being developed and I have prepared a list of upcoming accessories and some summaries about them and existing products.

Intercooler for Xbox 360

There is a undeniable issue about the Xbox 360 over-heating. You may find or will have certainly heard about the 360 over-heating internally, the right foundations for the console to breakdown. Microsoft say it isnt a product fault, but it is still a potential problem. NYKO (manufacturer) have designed a solution. The "Intercooler 360" should reduce the amount of internal operating heat, prolonging the consoles lifespan, and it requires little effort to install.

Don't fret if your 360 is fine, I am just outlining what new accessories
are coming out

Datel XSATA

Everybody's talking about having to get a new hard drive becuase they have already run out of space. I suppose that is one option but you could try this. Basically it allows you to transfer content from your Xbox 360 to your PC, thus freeing up that precious hard drive space. You can transfer game saves and other content I believe. It's good because if you don't play on a game anymore, but you put a lot of effort into completing it and don't want to delete your game saves, incase you have the urge to play it later sometime or brag to your mates, you can just transfer it to your computer (providing that has enough hard drive space) and it's safe there, enabling you to free up space.

20GB Xbox 360 Hard Drive

It is detachable and allows you to store games, downloaded content from Xbox Live music, demos etc. It costs about £60.

Intelligent Remote for Xbox 360

This "Intelligent" Remote is basically for your TV and Xbox 360. It is apparently light-weight, strong and firm, ergonomic and it can learn commands from other remote conrollers.

Basically you hold the controller infront of the component that has the function you wish to pick up. Then press a combination of keys on the Intelligent controller and it learns the command. Sound pretty special

This learning feature makes programming and entering complicated codes a thing of the past. And for a cheap price (around £15 I believe) it's well worth it.

Plug and Charge Kit

For £15 I would say this is a very good accessory. It allows you to charge your wireless controller while playing with it! If you're on a critical level in a game and you're warned your controller's about to die, just connect the charger and carry on. :)

GameFace 360 for Xbox 360

Another invention: “make your own faceplate”. Now this sounds cool. Basically you can design your own pattern or design, sandwich it between a transparent layer of plastic and then apply it to your 360 faceplate. Maybe an oppurtunity to impress your mates with your artistic talent

To do this all you have to do is purchase a plastic covering and a back plate. This is included in the pack aswell as 15 blank templates and 6 ready-to-use designs. You can also purchase a refill pack if you run out of templates, which seems a bit over the top - how many different faceplates do you need?

But the wonderful thing about the GameFace pack is the software developed, enabling you to produce your own designs! It is a very easy to use program and you can insert jpg, gif and bmp images into it. Re-size the image, turn it upside down, move it about, insert multiple images and much more. You can also create your own image and import it in, available for Windows and Mac. When you have spent hours of precision detailing and design, print it out and there you are! :)

It costs around £16.

Xbox 360 controller faceplates

You can now choose from seven spicy colours to enhance your controllers. The new colors are metallic silver, sexy red, solid black, candy pink, transparent, smoke grey and clear blue. The casings are available for both wired and wireless controllers. So now you can customize both your console and controllers.

A word of warning Since customizing the faceplate of your controller involves you opening up the controller then this will automatically void the warranty on your controller. Also you will need the right screw driver.

Xbox 360 Quick Charge Kit

I think this has been out for a few months now and I'll just give a quick summary in case you're not sure what it is. It basically recharges wireless controllers and it is the quickest one out I think. It can also charge other accessories. A wireless controller battery can be charged within 2 hours, so you don't have to sit around waiting for it to charge up and you won't have to be forced to socialise. £20 to buy.

Multi-Reader 360 for Xbox 360

Apparently, this is a MUST. Are 3 USB ports sufficient? Hell, I only have 2 for my computer and I get by fine. But apparently if you wish to aquire the upcoming cool first-party peripherals , three USB ports aren't enough... so thats the reason.

Supposing you are a regular contender on Xbox Live (like me) then your USB at the back is spoken for. Two more left at the front. Do you use a wired controller, charging kit or have your mp3 player plugged in reguarly? WOW! They're all gone! Magic. No USB ports left :( The device provides another 3 ports. Another bonus is that you can play music off your iPod, browse pictures and use a wired controller!

Upcoming accessories that require more ports are the new DVD player and Xbox Live video camera. Please post on here if you know of any more

So, if you wish to use the current peripherals and the future ones then you may have to consider buying the Multi-Reader or keep changing them about.

Ok, there's a little insight into what is already out and what to look forward to. Hope it's useful.

Oh, yeh. In case you haven't seen it yet I fished out a little trailer for Halo 3.

The wireless adapter for the 360 also uses a USB slot.
At the moment I only ever use 1 for the play and charge kit so unlikely I'll need the additional peripheral for that.

Also worth pointing out for some that with XSATA you can also transfer saves etc to friends if they have XSATA so they can use them too. Also works with pro evo option files if you want proper looking kits and player/team/stadium names.
