I have changed my dns settings to point towards '000webhost'.

I wish to do this because currently no matter what webpage I visit Im stuck with the url 'theruner.com' in my browser, which makes things like refreshing the page, take me straight back to the homepage of the forums and logs me out. Is there any way to have url extensions like 'theruner.com/forums' without changing my dns settings?

also by hosting my domain on another web server '000webhost' will that provide me with the ability to have URL extensions?

It is pointing towards:-
Primary Nameserver: ns01.000webhost.com
Secondary Nameserver: ns02.000webhost.com

I have noticed when I visit, 'theruner.com' I am redirected to a default freeola splash screen, and when I visit 'www.theruner.com' I am presented with 'The requested URL / was not found on this server' is there a time period I have to wait in order for the webpage to be passed onto the new hosts servers?

Sorry for the vast amount of questions, Im new to all this.

Thanks,
Arran

Hi and welcome to the forums.

It takes a while for the new DNS settings to take effect.
It looks like things are working for you this morning.

FWIW The host you are using often seems to have trouble with viruses/malware so make sure you keep up with all the security updates for your forum s/w.

Where you mention "URL extensions" - I think you mean folders/directories.

This is easy to do with Freeola - here's an old post from 2006 Simple Address.
Basically all you need is an index page in a folder and you're done :¬)

I give up with this but try looking here

Alright, thanks alot, I notice the name servers are still freeola so I guess there must be a delay with the website being changed from freeola to 000webhost.

Also I notice now that when I go to the website it doesnt show up the freeola splash screen so it must be in the process of changing over

Thanks,
Arran
