I have just started to put together my website. When trying to upload my own photos to the Gallery the site freezes and I cannot continue. Am I doing something wrong do you think?

You haven't said, but I'm assuming you are referring to an InstantPro site?
Try a different browser.
How large are your images? If they are too large or you are uploading too many that could cause issues. If they are very large try compressing them or resizing them first.
