Hi im trying to make a wordpress website. i have VIP Hosting and MySQL add-on which i purchased today. I have followed the 'installing wordpress with freeola', reached step 10, submit, but it didnt work and told me to try again by amending wp-config.php, or by contacting host.
I've amended the wp-confing-sample.php to:
/* MySQL settings */
define( 'DB_NAME', '**********l' );
define( 'DB_USER', '**********l' );
define( 'DB_PASSWORD', '*********' );
define( 'DB_HOST', 'localhost' );
define( 'DB_CHARSET', 'utf8' );
saved this as wp-config.php and uploaded along with all the wordpress files again.
This didnt work either and now when i go onto my site www.ots-legal.com it states: 'Error establishing a database connection'
I've also noticed [ I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it] when I have tried to administer my VIP MySQL databases using the MySQL Manager on Freeola and clicking 'Manage' link. It does not allow me to log in and gives me the following error message:#1045 - Access denied for user 'b942_ots-legal'@'localhost' (using password: YES
I'm not sure if that has any connection to my problems with installing wordpress.
Please help, i would like to get beyond stage 10 of the guidance, and start building the site as soon as possible..
