Active X controls do not work on Windows 64 bit unless it's a 32 bit program in the first place.
This progression will not change, so if you buy a new computer now then you should consider that you should only purchase one that fully supports 64 bit.
Windows 10 looks like it will be around in March 2015. We have already been told that all versions of Windows 7, Office 2010 and Server 2003 should be considered defunct now.
Internet Explorer will no longer be part of Windows 10 and will be replaced by Spartan, a browser with some kind of program mixture that is similar to those provided by Google.
Programming using Visual Studio 2015 will represent a substantial move from the previous versions.
