Hi Guys

Anyone aware of any changes of recent that will be affecting my wordpress install?

Its been working fine for months and still does (kind of) on the front end. The issues appears to be on the backend.

I can login to the dashboard - but when i try to select anything i get redirected to the following url: http://registration. freeola.net/errors/e.php?ec=500

Which has this error message:
There was an error on the page
A scripting/config error prevents the server from showing this page. If you are the owner you can find more help at the Freeola Support Centre or by speaking to a member of our technical support team on: 0871 210 9977.

I've disabled all the plugins, i don't have a .htaccess file as I never got as far as setting up permalinks.

URL for the site is: http://www.platinumgolf.co.uk - Obviously theres now a few gaps on the front end due to plugins being disabled.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks, Scott

Hi Hmmm,

The listed details are indeed only for VIP hosting services.

The standard hosting servers are currently operating with PHP 5.3.x as far as I am aware. As always if you are experiencing a problem with this version please let us know via a support ticket and we will see what changes are available.

The current requirements release by WordPress state that an active installation of WP requires a minimum PHP version of 5.2.4. Whilst this is accurate the actual version required will depend on which plug-ins you have active.

Hi Scott - pleased to hear you are back up and running :¬)

srs_wubwub,
I see Scott's site is using VIP Hosting, I take it the MyFreeola PHP instructions you provided are only for VIP as I can't see them for Standard Hosting?

Will the latest version of WordPress work on PHP v5.3.27 (Standard Hosting) or does it need 5.4?

Thanks,

Wahooooooo - were back up and running...

srs_wubwub - thanks for the great advice. I spent a good 2-3 hours on google before posting on here and couldn't find the answer! Your a star!

Hmmmmm... Yes Wordpress 3.7.1 - A lot of the front end was broken as I manually disabled the plugins as part of my fixing attempts. I left these disabled while the problem was still there - but all should now be ok. Go for the update.....but update your PHP first ;-)

Thanks very guys!

Hi Scott,

The issue that you have described is indicative of your WordPress installation needing a PHP version which is different to the one currently being used.

You are able to change the PHP vesion by logging in to your MyFreeola account via http://myfreeola.com.

Once logged in select 'My Web Sites' from the left hand navigation list. Now select 'Options & FTP Settings' to the right of the domain name in question.

You will be presented with a list of information, you will need to follow through the link marked as 'Change PHP Version'.

For the latest release of WordPress PHP version 5.4 will be a good choice. If this does not solve your problem please do send us in a support ticket or call the Support line on 0871 210 9977.

Hi Scott and welcome to the forums!

What version of WP are you using?

I haven't moved to the latest 3.7.1 yet - I'm using 3.5.2 which appears to be working fine for me.

FWIW all your main links 404 for me so it looks like there are problems on the front end and it's not just your plugins/back end?!

EDIT: I see your current links go to folders (i.e /coaching) and Google's cache shows links to page_ids is this something you've changed?

Wait to see if others are seeing similar problems and if not then it might be worth re-installing using your backups and see if that fixes things.

PS - I'm no WordPress expert!
