Do you think the x-box will be the next 3DO or Jaguar, will it fail or will take off and be the next playstation when the price comes down? I was speaking the a sales person in a electronic store yesterday and he asked me about the x-box, i said i didn't like the controller and before i knew it he had made the console sound bad, even though he was supposed to be selling it. His store had apparently sold very few x-boxes in the last week compaired to the less powerful less expensive ps2. He pratically wrote the console off!!! Personally I can't see how the x-box is going to sell if even the sales staff in shops don't have faith in it.

The constitution should be amended to elect a committee fit for purpose.

i reckon i would be really good...cos i've reckon i know exactly what to do seeing as i'm such a regular customer (and exchanger)...oh and also i know my games (apart from the gamecube)

One bloke in Game in Chester even tried telling me the PS2 version of Crazy Taxi has loads more levels than the Dreamcast original...

As it's a straight port, I was unable to agree with him on this one.

yeah i've only really ever met one guy who has known his games at eb...it was his first day there....ended up talking to him for about half an hour in the store LOL....actually even got another guy to join our conversation...all the others are hopeless on the whole

Not necessarily Rza these guys in the shops haven’t a glimmer about what they are trying to sell even if u go in to a computer shop the guy or gal behind the counter don’t know what u’r talking about half the time they only have the product there to sell and that’s all they’re worried about PROFIT that’s all

Not pointing out the obvious but they do work in a "games shop".

Also, many people who apply do it because they like games, and enjoy being around their 'own kind'.

You find that everywhere. Walk into a games shop and the staff's 'advice' seems to be to buy whatever console they have. They are biased. The funny bit about it is that although they are biased, they don't have any knowledge to back it up: I was in Game once and two of them were arguing about which was best PS2 or Xbox. While the answer is pretty obvious, the PS2 side was being faught by arguments like 'You can't put the Xbox on its side though can you?'.

I mean, come on. Does the fact that you can put the PS2 on its side make it the best console? Some shops even advise you don't do that as the CDs become scratched, so they've even lost that argument, pathetic though it is.

Go into that shop and ask the bloke for some specs. Laugh at him as he obviously doesn't know any. Correct all of his incorrect guesses. Make him look a prat. Then perhaps he will think twice before being unfairly biased against certain machines. They've done this since the days of the Master System and NES.
