In America, the console has got massive sales- beating the GC by a long way.
In Europe it's doing average for a post-xmas launch, but not brilliantly...
Either way, as predicted all 3 consoles will survive just fine. MS will get the foothold they need, Ninty will claim back some of the lost ground from Sony, and Sony will dominate.

1) PS2 - sold over 30 million to date, and climbing
2) Gamecube - must be 4 or 5 million at least
3) XBox - 2 million tops
Of course, sales figures say nothing about the power of a machine:
1) XBox
2) Gamecube
3) PS2
Then there is the price to consider:
1) Gamecube
2) PS2
3) XBox
Then there is games:AAA titles ratio:
1) Gamecube
2) XBox
3) PS2
However you look at it, this console war has got SONYs bank account written all over it. I firmly believe that Gamecube will end up third overall in the sales rankings, purely because Microsoft will do what they have to in order to shift units.
While SONY and M$ are battling, Nintendo onwers can sit back happy in the knowledge that they are reaping the benefits of this battle (more games!), and the AAA titles that only Nintendo et al can produce!!
