Obviously things aren't so black and white, unless you're a tabloid journalist out for a quick sensationalist story, but with more people seemingly turning to private medical cover with monthly payments and stories of terrible practices in some hospitals is there less faith in NHS doctors now?
Even if you do believe in the NHS to treat you, how often do you even go to the doctor? Are you the sort of person who waits it out or do you head for the surgery as soon as you get a sniffle?
I tend to avoid the doctors unless I really need it, mainly because here there are more old people than young people and they tend to use up all the spaces, so you phone up and get an appointment for 2 days time or next week. Sometimes, though, it works and you get to see a doctor the same day, as I did today for my eldest daughter. Then you just hope that they know what they are doing and give you the right treatment.
When I really need to call 'the doctor' I will, but it will be only when Mrs DL suggests that I do it and that isn't that often :¬)
My gripe would be with the 'larger picture' ... the Hospital! Around here they have become a 'metropolis' of misguided automotons ... and as for 'private patients', they still wait over their appointment time...but wait later in the evening! That is the privilege of 'private patients' ;¬)
