I love my user name on here. I don't really think it describes me at all, I don't think it really means anything at all... bar the thought behind coming up with it... but it's just quite random, and I love it for that reason.
But why do people often have really, really crappy user names? And oddly enough, they always turn out to be crap writers if they have a BoRiNg user name.
Perhaps:
You need a name to stand out. Something to get you recognised. So, instead of really thinking hard about a cool name, you just steal something from a band/wrestler/sexual position, and then capitalise every other letter. Stands out then, doesn't it?
GrIx ThRaVeS
And then you have people that seem to believe that putting character next to the name make it more interesting too. No it doesn't. You just look like a mong.
<[(~--GrIx-ThRaVeS--~)]>
Then of course, when you still discover your name is still as boring as ever, you try to make it "clever", by changing letters to symbols that look like letters. Not clever. Boring, and pathetic.

Oh dear.
It doesn't mean you're original, creative, or anything. Really. Any idiot can go into character map and see a symbol that looks remotely like a letter.
But it will continue, because nobody has the creativity to come up with a decent damn name.
Ah well.
And it's GOLD, so it

Yeah, I suppose you're right. :D

It's just a personal distaste, that's all. Wookiee Monster is a good name, and doesn't really need to be put in characters to make it better, but that's just his tastes. Sonicrav is a good name too, and I suppose that's just his taste to write it all in capitals, put lines next to it, and make sure all his topic titles are in capitals too.
Hmmmm.
I don't write things so people agree with me, I write things to see what they think.
They say you can tell who a person is by their name. Hmmmmmmmmmm, not too sure about nicknames.
Someone reminded me that cheese goes mouldy after a while, so the laws of science forced me to change.
I had to change it from 'Jim Cricket' because someone was called 'Jiminy Cricket'. So I just came up with 'Badgerman'.
some people say that it seems to resemble 'Goatboy's' name, go figure.
