As for the strawberries - whilst is is good practice to wash fruit after you've picked it, don't do so with the dishwater.

Still, it's very, very satisfying....
And I got that one on my finger out. Used warm water and a lot of squeezing with tweezers. Still hurts, but it's out now.

For heating, I suggest using warm water. For cooling, I suggest using ice.
