Just thought I'd do a bit on Hackers

It is the year 2002. Whilst technology may be rapidly growing far quicker then we might have expected, it might appear a slight disappointment to the film makers of the late 70’s films in which the world was seen as a perfect place, in which everyone lived in harmony, everyone had evolved to a new level of intellect and was a better citizen. But, then, that’s another topic of discussion. After the release of the Windows operating system, it wasn’t long before the Internet was finally given a chance to take off. Back then, websites wouldn’t even consist of images, just plain text, and that’s about as good as it gets, before long, coding languages were around and integrated into web browsers. Programs made specifically for web design flocked out, causing people to reach to their wallets and spend hundreds of pounds to be able to keep up with the new revelation, or look for the nearest P2P client, as it later turned out. Companies were quickly to recognize the growth of the Internet, and take gave their customers the chance to buy products, without having to leave the house. But, whilst the Internet grew, as did the potential threat.

Like everything in this world, anything that can be taken advantage of, shall eventually be done. It was not long before computer crimes were known, and no one was safe. There was no set target, and no known enemy, that was until Kevin Mitnick came into the scene. Kevin Mitnick became known as a hacker which earnt him the place of the first computer criminal to find their way into the FBI’s Most Wanted list.

Although, hacker is commonly seen as a person how is causing malicious acts, it’s commonly overseen that hackers are mainly those who choose to help, rather then deceive. Using their knowledge not to destroy, but to create is the way in which we’d all like to believe people think, but ultimately, there’s the greed which exists in this world that prevents this illusion of perfection.

The net is far bigger then most know of, and those that know of it's increasing size, possibilities and information, have opened up a new world in front of them, that can be accessed as easily as going to a well known search engine. Banks are now being robbed, software is being illegally downloaded, companies are in jeopardy, an invisible war is going on, with the use of a weapon, but a weapon that anyone has access to - a computer. The Internet has everything open to you, from online shopping, any program, any document, any selection of music you may wish for, and it's not slowing down. The more people who have access to a computer, ultimately results in the more potential hackers around, and yet as the protection increases, the hackers double in size. The world will not stop spinning, just as the web won't stop evolving into a vaster ocean of information open to anyone, which desires.

Companies like McAfee and Symantec easily display the way in which it works. Their sole use is to make products, which make it harder for your computer to be attacked. Any person who’s never used a computer may find it hard, if not impossible to understand how a machine offers not just so much to talk about, but so much to offer that now requires security. Just like your house has a key, and maybe a security alarm, or perhaps even something more advanced, to prevent unauthorized access, as does a computer. What’s used to create, can also be reversed to destroy, in a game where there are no winners, only people trying to battle against each other: The protectors vs. the invaders.

Is this some kind of school project you've done on hackers or something?
