Diego Forlan signed for Manchester United on 22 January 2002, after turning down the approaches of Middlesbrough in favour of Old Trafford.
The Uruguayan striker signed from Argentine side Independiente, for whom he scored twenty goals last season.
Forlan is a strong striker in the Jurgen Klinsmann mould - he's tall, quick and a scorer of some spectacular goals in the Argentine league.
Diego is yet to play for the senior Uruguay team, but he has turned out for their Under-20 side in the past.
Forlan is seen as many as being the replacement for Andy Cole, who joined Blackburn Rovers on 29 December 2001.
