Metal Gear 2 has brought with it some “not so good” storylines. In Metal Gear 1 there were no signs at all of the idea that Otacon had a sister. He never dropped any hints or anything, but suddenly, when the new game comes out, she appears! And Otacon had a sister all along! Why didn’t it give us that information in the first game?
Also, the most terrible storyline of MGS2 is when it turns out that Campbell, someone you deeply respect almost as much as Snake, turns out to be a Robot!! This ruins the chances of playing further games with him on your side, which I’m sure most of us would have wanted!
But that’s just a few faults with the storyline. Others lie in the small parts of the game. You only get to see Mei Ling a couple times if you’re lucky, why isn’t she throughout the whole game? And Naomi! She was great! The FOXDIE storyline really kicked @$#!! I am happy that they dropped a few hints in about that in the new game too. But the previous codec team rocked. Especially Master, I’d almost completely forgotten about him! I also preferred the battle music when you got seen in the previous game; there is a lot more action in it.
OK. Your all probably getting the idea that I hate the game now so I’m gonna stop dissin’ the game for a while and get to the parts I love, which although I haven’t written them all down, is the majority.
The clips of the previous game in the previous graphics were great! It really showed that Metal Gear Solid 1 was not dead, and they used it quite well in building a storyline onto. The fact that they’re in black and white helps too, along with the breath-taking music in the background.
OK that’s not much about what I like about these games, but I really just wanted to express the faults with it. I hate to say the games have faults because I see them as perfect, but I just want to know what you think of it and if you have a clue in the blue hell what I’m talking about.
Thankyou,
I’m Tazz.
P.S. Was there another, very old Metal Gear in which Big Boss died? Cos I never heard of it.

> Solid Snake

yup there were two metal gear games before metal

metal gear
metal gear 2: snakes revenge
at the end of metal

as for the metal gear solid games
> they were both good especially the first one, good post.
It was called Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake
Although MGS1 did have the most amazing cut scenes, it didn't have the playability of Ocarina of Time. And although MGS2 did have the most amazing playability, it didn't have the story of Ocarina of Time or of MGS1.
Ocarina of Time was an enormous game too. Both the MGS games were relatively small. I completed MGS2 on Normal mode yesterday in 2 hours and 15 minutes. That's pathetic!
Anyway, Ocarina of Time is, in my opinion, the best game ever made. MGS2 has the second best 1 player game around. Although it doesn't have the story, it does have amazing gameplay. Still, MGS2 is ultimately flawed. As soon as they chose the location of the oil platform, it was basically ruined. Every bit of the game was the same! The tanker is by far the best bit.
As for multiplayer, neither Zelda or MGS has it. That crown goes to Perfect Dark (for consoles anyway) and I don't think anyone can argue.
