Diego Forlan, a player bought to replace former Man U and Newcastle striker Andy Cole. The question everyone is asking is, "will he live up to the high standard of Andy Cole and Ruud Van Nistlerooy"

In his first few matches all he did was run around like a ponce with is long hair and his pony tail (how gay).

Although now my opinion of him is changing every match, it alpears that he just needs time to settle in and ajust to the United pattern. Although he hasn't scored yet he has played a big part in making them for players such as Nistlerooy. His speed plays a big part in his game kind of like Darren Huckerby.

If he can get a goal in the few matches of the season it will boost his confidance a lot for the champions league. Hopefully soon he will be astablished in the Manchester United Team.

Like I say with all new foreigners, 'give them time'!
Veron needs time and so does Forlan.
Can you look at their form from their time before United and still say that there's nothing exciting to be brought out from these players!?? NO.

Veron is world class and everyone knows it - especially Fergie. That is why he is staying, and Fergie will help him to adjust to the Premiership (the world's no.1 league) and to re-capture the form of his days in Italy and for Argentina!

The same will also happen with Forlan.
And the soon-to-be fully capped Uruguayan international has already shown promise and confident in the handfull of games he has already played in. Aswell as scoring a few in the reserves!
He seems to have a bit of pace and strength when on a run, but he needs a bit more confidence infront of goal to perfect his finnishing.
But he still gets his fair-share of chances, and takes them well!

Yes, we should have faith in both players! :D

I thought this was going to be a topic written by some Man Utd fan without a clue blasting Forlan, but I was pleasently surprised. I agree with everything you said apart from the running around like a ponce statement. I think I would be the same if I was thrown into a football game where I couldn't communicate with any of my team mates and it was a completely different pace of which I was used to.

Forlan will be a good player, he just needs time. It is the same with Angel, everyone was slating him but from the first time I watched him play, I knew he was class. His first touch, link-up-play and heading are all world class. It's just a pitty everyone was eager to jump on the bandwagon and criticise him. Everyone did apart from the Villa fans because we all knew he was class.

Forlan is in the exact same position, apart from most of the Man Utd fans are criticising him as well. Not all mind, but it really angers me when I hear Man Utd fans having a go at him. It's a fine example of most of them not having a clue about football.
