Last nights game was really dull, and I reckon Liverpool were lucky to come away from it 1-0 winners.

Bayer were all over them in the first half, until the goal, and Liverpool's chances in the second half were all on the counter attack.

If Bayer get an early goal next Tuesday, I don't fancy Liverpool's chances, as Bayer are a team that score a lot of goals at home.

Mind you, Liverpool's away form in this tournement has seen then earn some quality draws in the past, so maybe they'll be able to hold out.

Owen looks well off form at the moment, and his only involvement was in the goal. This is not good for England.

liverpools negotive approach last night had to be taken. To concede an away goal at european knockout stage is a disastrous situation.

liverpool had to play the way they did

I must admit - Poor performance but at least we have a lead to hold on to without conceding an away goal!!
We have a great chance of getting to the semi's now considering our awesome away record in europe!!
I reckon we can go all the way - Watch out United!!

Yeah that was a boring match, but Michael Ballack is one player you have to watch!!
Brilliant on the ball, and i've been looking out for him ever since he caught my eye in Keegan's last England game.

I'd like to see him in the Premiership some day - and not that old fogie Effenberg!

An all english match would be boring but it might prove something to other countries.

An all english semi-final would be good for english football but it would a boring crap of a game to watch. Unless United scored first of course...

I fell asleep during the 2nd half of that game yesterday and I'm still tired now. Hopefully for the good of "exciting" football Leverkusen will go through. They done over Juventus, Deportivo and Barcalona at home. Still a good chance for Leverkusen.

I agree that Liverpool were very dull yesterday and Leverkusen had as much chance of winning as they did, Liverpool were only dangerous on the counter attack but with Smicer looking sluggish and Owen not himself, there was nothing creative happening when they attacked.

Bayer were sharp and confidence was high for them, and players like Basturk and Lucio were getting increasingly dangerous. My opinion is that Liverpool will be crushed in Germany but, it would be nice for an all england semi.
