It's coming to all major consoles (I think) and is a cel-shaded boxing game.
I've seen shots of the game, and the perspective and style of characters was similar to that used in Super Punch Out, where you have a view from behind your character, but can see through hin.
Anyway, I don't know much about this game, so I'll just tell you how good Super Punch Out was.
It was excellent. For a boxing game to have no multiplayer mode would normally have been a fatal mistake, but the single player game was just so addictive. Basically, you'd have one round (3 minutes) with which to knock out your opponent, then you'd move on to the next guy.
What made it special was the range of opponents, from typical boxers like Aran Ryan (who looks like John Arne Riise) to kung fu experts, to huge clowns. Each opponent had a very different style, and it was all about learning their moves, and finding their weaknesses. I remember not being able to hit Bear Hugger in the stomach, as it did not damage to him, and he'd stick his tongue out at you, so you had to dodge his attacks and get in head shots. You had to use all kinds of punches, using jabs to get your power up, then being able to throw uppercuts, hooks and the like.
Definitely the best boxing game I've ever played, here's hoping Black and Bruised can live up to it.
u suk notabl
:-D
Anyway, I remember Super Punch Out fairly well. I'm sure it was on the SNES and Game Boy, or one of them anyway. It had 3 guys trying to punch each other on the front cover. It wasn't exactly the best game I ever played but it was enjoyable all the same. Me and some mates used to play it as a swap around thing. Well, I think that anyway.
So, are you thinking of getting this... Black and Bruised?
