I would imagine that the charge for being online would be a ridiculous sum of bout 30-50p a minute or sumthin, i think this was the case when the dreamcast was first introduced to the internet, at least thats what i remember seeing on t.v.
Obviously a phone connector wire thingy majig would have to be purchased to connect.
At least microsoft were generous enough to supply the modem with the console whereas the PS2 u have to purchase seperately.... i'm not to sure about the cube, i think it has a modem in it.

Nope its like the PS2, it has a 56k or Broadband connector available.
Xbox should be online at the end of the year. But the Xbox ONLY has a broadband connection. You cant use the normal telephone line with the Xbox.
The calls will be FREE as its a broadband line, but a subscription fee will probably be used instead. The subscription shouldnt be too much maybe £10-15 a month, maybe even less.
The DC had local call rate internet access over here. But over in America in Japan, they subscribe to the DC network to play online DC games.
